My Story
My work is deeply rooted in trauma-informed care, disability justice, and transformative justice, centering the voices and autonomy of humans who wish to grow. I have collaborated with hundreds of AAC users across different methodologies and have focused my professional skill-set on training helping professionals, educators and families on AAC strategies, individualized sensory and trauma support and identifying carryover techniques to improve independent and supported communication outside of the clinical setting.
I hold degrees in Music Therapy (BA and Masters), Psychology (minor), a Graduate Certificate in Systemic Multicultural Counseling, am adding a secondary Graduate Degree in Disability Studies in the Fall of 2025 and am currently studying for the RESNA Assistive Technology Professional exam, which I plan to take in the Spring of 2026. I co-own Sylas Supports, LLP with my spouse.
I draw her passion and focus from my experiences as an older sister to Becca who passed in January of 2019. Becca’s experience as a disabled woman with complex medical needs and motor challenges within a family system that mistrusted helping professionals and doctors impacted her access to communication, autonomy, and identity. Becca spelled to communicate the last 2.5 years of her life, and my experience as her sister continues to inform my curiosity, frustration at systemic barriers for the Disability Community, and a focus on justice for those experiencing life outside of the accepted norm.
“Teach me, not mom, strategies to give me a full life, Angie.” - Becca Dingley, 3/22/86-1/3/19
